Guest’s blog: A night in Zagreb



After an early morning, a long bus ride and an evening of strolling the streets I passed out on my bed without even the final Croatian seafood dinner, that I had been thinking about all day.

I stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom in the very relaxed Taban Hostel.  Perfectly located on Tkalčićeva, Zagreb’s main café and bar strip, it made a perfect starting point for my exploration of the city center.  The staff were super helpful and friendly; and with a clean modern bathroom, wifi and breakfast included (basic, but free) I was sufficiently comfortable.  But the small room with a sloping roof and tiny rooftop window would’ve been difficult to stay in for more than one night.  The chilled cafe bar and its friendly bartender downstairs made the perfect escape.
